Perfect length and value for money (Game Pass and lower-tiered pricing) The Bad.Quick pick-up and play despite it's depth.Lots of depth in terms of strategy, challenge, tactics, upgrades and risk / reward.RNG is mostly balanced nicely and brings some needed variation to the many vessels you tackle.Great strategic enemy variations and tools / weapons.Well voice acted and cool comic visual presentation and animation.Addictive looter shooter, building and upgrading mechanics.Unique combination of FPS and Roguelike genres. You just collect all the action items & then it just ends).ĩ0% Xbox OneReview Played on the Xbox One S via the Xbox Game Pass completed in just over 24hrs The Good Lags fairly frequently when it gets chaotic (multiple enemies on screen at once & explosions) - The story is decent, but nothing to write home about - Ending was pretty funny, but it's fairly lackluster. Framerate dips often (I played it portably. Short campaign: It encourages you to replay it, so if you normally don't replay games, I don't think this game is worth it unless it looks REALLY appealing to you. I also got a client once who could run without making noise which is really good.). (Once, I got a client who yelled every time he picked up an item. The "clients" come with different traits, and it can affect the gameplay significantly. The ONLY real variety you get is with the characters/clients which helps make each run feel fresh. Additionally, while the combat is decent, it gets pretty repetitive. Good voice acting CONS - Super repetitive (the biggest problem with the game): 99% of the ships look IDENTICAL on the inside despite the colourful exterior, so you're pretty much walking through the same ~5 rooms & hallways for the entire campaign. It's definitely not the kind of game where you can do other things in the background. Sh*t can go sideways really quickly in this game, so it always keeps you on edge. The game felt intense for nearly the whole campaign. They're nearly impossible to kill & they destroy you. The enemies are fun & well designed (EXCEPT the pirates. I can't even count the number of times a Jive called me a "Buttface". Weapons are fun & creative (which is pretty rare for a lot of FPS games nowadays)! - The (British) humour is cute & enjoyable. Decent gunplay - Weapons feel good: They pack a nice punch. PROS - Amazing comic book art style! (This is mainly what drew me in). If you are interested in buying the game, at least do your wallet a favour and get it on sale because it's a borderline ripoff. It's RIDICULOUSLY expensive for such a repetitive & short game (~$40 CAD for about 10 hours)! I didn't even unlock all the items, but I have zero urge to go back & get everything because you don't get anything for it as far as I'm aware. Once inside these ships you’re going to want to look for the Theatre area to access the Med Terminal.70% Nintendo SwitchOVERALL IMPRESSION: The game is decent (not great, but pretty good), but it's definitely NOT worth full price. Regardless, you will be able to see whether a ship has a Med Terminal or not on the top right hand side of the screen when in the overworld map. These medical ships will have Med Terminals. If you absolutely need to visit a Med-Station you’re going to want to look for the red Xon ships. The only way that we’ve seen that you can heal after boarding another ship is by finding a Med-Station. You can choose to rest at any spot on the map, but doing so will cost you food while it increases your health in the process. If you need more than one helping of food to further replenish your health you will need to use the rest option prior to boarding a ship. In eating that food you will also get some health back. Doing this will remove 1 unit of food and 1 unit of fuel from your supplies. Each move that you make in Void Bastards will require that eat food and burn fuel.
